A Good Picture

What ever brand of camera and how ever good the lens is it is the emotion that the recorded picture invokes that counts. More megapixels or better dynamic range may change a few details, but it cannot change a bad picture into a good one.

I have a passion for people. Whether it is at a wedding or just at a friend I keep on shooting. It gets really interesting when you cannot control the situation more than about 50 percent - the rest just happens.

Recently I have been looking into how to shoot very tall pictures (think panoramas tilted 90 degrees). Some landscape shots work rather good this way and tall buildings becomes interesting, but it is challenging (and thus highly addictive).

Equipment

My main camera is a Nikon D3. It is an ergonimic camera, that handles low light situations well. My favorite lenses are a AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8G ED and a AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G IF-ED. For support I use either an outdated Manfrotto 434B/KL01 monopod (replaced by 681B) or a Manfrotto 055PROB Pro tripod.

The Family

My gallery has only pictures with a wide audience. Pictures of the family can be found here.
